BEAT THE POST-EASTER JIGGLE

Overindulged this Easter? You wouldn’t be the only one… Put those chocolate eggs to good use at one of London’s top fitness pop-ups.

1. BARRECORE AT BLUEBIRD

Barrecore is the latest fitness trend sweeping London, delivering a low impact, full body interval training program inspired by ballet dancing. A romantic idea yes, but think less pirouettes and more panting in a sweaty puddle – ballet is HARD. Popping up in Chelsea’s Bluebird on the 23rd of April, the cult class will be followed by brunch and a talk from guest hosts, with goody bags to take home from Graze UK.

2. GERMAN GYMNASIUM BOOTCAMP

Get those wobbly butts up to Kings Cross for the German Gymnasium’s fortnightly Victorian Bootcamps. Taking inspiration from gym lessons historically held in the venue, the class will involve boxing, body weight drills, and the mysteriously named ‘Indian Club Swinging’. Refuel after your workout with 20% off brunch in the Grand Café – stay virtuous with a healthy chia pot, or bin it off and go for the almighty GG Breakfast.

3. MODEL METHOD POP-UP

We’ve all been there – binge eating chocolate Digestives while watching the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, silently cursing their lithe limbs and flat stomachs. Enter Hollie Grant, a clever lass who has invented a style of training called ‘The Model Method’, an intense combination of Pilates and HIIT promising catwalk-worthy results. She’ll be popping up at a ‘secret photo studio’ in East London on April 16th to whip us into shape, followed by post-workout treats and refreshments. We can’t promise an instant Adriana Lima transformation, but we can guarantee you’ll be sore the next day.

4. FAT BUDDHA YOGA SUNDAY REHAB CLASS

Those trendy chaps over at The Hoxton are hosting a yoga pop-up in their Shoreditch venue, every Sunday throughout April and May. The ‘Fat Buddha Yoga Sunday Rehab class’ promises a leisurely hour of R&R to replenish your Zen and prepare you for the dreaded Monday to-do list. Better yet, it starts at the very reasonable hour of 1pm, so there’s plenty of time to sleep off your hangover before donning your Lulu’s and pretending that you definitely didn’t get on it last night.

5. HOUSE OF VOGA AT COQ D’ARGENT

Forget yoga, these days we’re opting for the far more entertaining VOGA – a combination of ‘voguing’ (Vogue magazine-inspired posing and dancing, duh) and yoga. With a feel-good soundtrack of empowering Eighties classics, these cult classes promise to tone and strengthen the body. Coq d’Argent recently ran a very successful series of VOGA pop ups on their cosy winter terrace, and has promised their return in May and June. So pop your scrunchie in, pick your most obnoxious fluro leggings and get ready to strike a serious pose.
