At a loose end when it comes to the weekend ahead? We’ve got you covered with our top five things to do in the city…
1. DJ Dave Delgado at Bluebird
Who doesn’t love a posh Chelsea night out at Bluebird? Start off with a few civilised oysters and maybe a lobster roll with a glass of something fizzy to celebrate the end of the working week. Then the real fun starts - crack into a few cocktails and dance the night away to DJ Dave Delgado’s layered techy bass and crisp techhouse sets. We don’t know what that means exactly, but it sounds FUN! And hey, you might bump into someone from Made in Chelsea.
2. Shad Thames Trail at Le Pont de la Tour
Peel yourself out of bed and walk off last night’s hangover with some fresh air down at the Shad Thames Trail! The self-guided walk can be followed in any order with a focus on various themes like public art, listed spice warehouses and brewing. Le Pont de la Tour bar is hosting a pop up bar on Saturday from 11-4pm for those who fancy a chat with the local Thames enthusiasts. Our suggestion? Start your day out with a bottomless Prosecco brunch – cultural things are always more fun when you’re a bit boozed.
3. Find your London – Search Party
This weekend marks the start of Find Your London, an 11 day festival celebrating the best city in the whole world (obvs). They’ve got over 100 events planned, but what really caught our eye was the mysteriously named ‘Search Party’. Word on the street is it’s a two mile interactive treasure hunt involving riddles, red herrings and even ‘helpful strangers’ to guide you through London’s hidden gardens and secret backstreets. Sounds tough, but if there’s a cold beer waiting at the end – we’re in.
4. Scandinavian Spring Market
Scandi-style has never been so fashionable, and this weekend we’re celebrating with a whole festival of Nordic charm. Pop down to Albion Street in Rotherhithe and spend your Saturday wandering through stalls selling snacks, crafts, stylish homewares and jewellery. Expect live music, a barbeque, traditional Finnish Easter desserts and all the Moomin paraphernalia you could ever ask for.
5. Where’s Wally fun run
Head down to Clapham on Sunday to get some serious weekend bonus points – exercise AND raising money for charity! Registration for the annual ‘Where’s Wally?’ fun run goes straight to the National Literacy Trust and promises a hilarious day out for both participants and spectators. Best of all, for the non-runners amongst us – you definitely don’t need to worry about feeling like a bit of a Wally.
