1. Taste of London
The line-up for this year’s Taste of London is looking better than ever, and not just because two of our favourite restaurants are exhibiting. We’ll be hanging around Sartoria’s stand for Francesco’s famous homemade fettucine with fresh truffles and German Gymnasium for Bjoern’s signature schnitzel. Our advice? Come hungry and plan your dishes in advance here – the last thing you need is food fatigue!
2. Hyundai Fandome
If the thought of cramming between drunk hooligans in a sweaty pub to watch Euro 2016 doesn’t appeal, Hyundai Fandome is the solution. A system of four metre high screens with enough space for 1,000 spectators, the dome located in King's Cross is the ultimate ‘immersive football experience’. Oh – and it’s FREE! Stop by German Gymnasium after the game for a celebratory bottle of Sekt.
3. Open Garden Squares
London is absolutely not the concrete jungle that foreigners make it out to be, and the National Trust is out to prove it with their annual Open Garden Squares weekend. With over 200 gardens across 27 boroughs, there’s a range of activities including guided tours, live music and food vendors. The exotic rooftop garden at Canary Wharf’s Crossrail Place is our pick, followed by Plateau’s #BlossomCity tasting menu – to keep up the garden theme and all that….
4. Ride with Pride
IBikeLondon are organising this year’s Ride With Pride – an opportunity to dress up in your most fabulous outfit and cycle through the streets of London with other like-minded riders. Have a few Friday afternoon cocktails at Skylon for some Dutch courage, then don your brightest feather boa and most glittery bike helmet and get peddling.
5. Father’s Day
Father’s Day is this Sunday and it’s definitely not too late to redeem last year’s sad shaving brush and bottle of Tesco scotch effort. Get dad boozed at Quaglino’s bottomless brunch, treat him to a Michelin-Starred meal at Launceston Place or stick to the classics with a proper roast lunch at Madison.
