THINGS TO DO IN LONDON THIS WEEKEND: 22ND-24TH JULY

1. Curious? Festival

Ever been curious about German wine? This weekend is your chance to get the lowdown, with Curious? Festival returning to King's Cross and the kind folks at German Gymnasium putting on an afternoon of free tastings. Pop in at 1pm, 2pm or 3pm to try a selection of different wines from this year’s Top 50 Wines of Germany, presented by the restaurant's expert sommeliers. And don’t worry, it’s not all posh wine – two are available to buy at Waitrose and Tesco.

2. Carnaby Street Eat Food Festival

We like an uncomplicated marketing message, and the Carnaby Street ‘Eat Food’ Festival delivers just that. Resident Soho restaurants such as Pizza Pilgrims, Dirty Bones and Dishoom are taking to the streets all afternoon on Saturday, and we hear there’s a ping pong championship taking place just around the corner at 3pm. Make an evening of it and head to 100 Wardour St for cocktails and dancing to live house music from Nocturne.

3. Gin Bus

It has definitely not been the week for bus commutes (aka sweaty red boxes of hell), but the Hendricks Gin Bus is a journey we can get our heads around. And it’s even decorated like a cucumber. Jump off in central London and keep the gin theme going – the Quaglino’s Tanqueray speakeasy opened this week, with 10 new cocktails on the menu to keep us all going.

4. Bluebird fitness sessions

Bluebird has played host to some seriously sweaty pop-ups this year including Barrecorre and Boom Cycle, and this latest collaboration is set to be no different. PHITT London is bringing its ‘ultimate workout for the whole body that will challenge every muscle in your body’ to Chelsea this Saturday, along with guest speakers to inspire your summer body resolutions. Put it this way – you’ll definitely deserve the signature Bluebird brunch afterwards…

5. Hackney Village Fayre

As always, we do love a good summer fair and if you’re heading east this weekend, the Hackney Village Fayre is the place to be. Supporting hospitality charity legends, Magic Breakfast, the event boasts some seriously big hitters from London’s restaurant scene: MEATmission , Foxlow and Hills & Szrok to name a few. Grab yourself a burger, get your face painted and play the tombola – summer Saturdays done right.
