But unfortunately those areas tend to get more than a little crowded with screaming children, people baring their pale, sun-starved bodies and large groups of teenagers throwing frisbees at your head. Instead, escape to the serenity of the Coq d'Argent rooftop garden for a picnic this weekend, complete with a hamper full of posh goodies and a chilled glass of fizz. Far more civilised.
2. Start your own food brand with Quaglino’s
The second instalment in our Summer School series with About Time takes place this Saturday at Quaglino’s with eggs and fizz on the menu, obv. This week we’ll be discussing the ins and outs of starting a food brand with the bad ass women from Pip & Nut, Ugly Drinks, Crosstown Doughnuts, Maple & Fitz and Moju Drinks. 3. Cocktails in the City
Cocktails in the City is a back for the summer edition of London’s favourite booze festival, which sees 25 top bars come together to show off their skills. This time they are all popping up in the beautiful Bedford Square Gardens, with a packed schedule of tastings, masterclasses, live music and of course some street food to soak up all those cocktails. Our bartenders are taking a well-deserved rest this time around to indulge in a bit boozy R&D.
4. Disco Dodgeball
Throwing balls at each other in fancy dress with disco music, booze, and extra points for added sparkle?? SIGN US UP. Dodgeball is getting glitzy this weekend at Pop Brixton with its ‘Officially Unofficial Olympic’ tournament, featuring some of London’s top street food vendors and drinks all day long from Freight & Narrow and The Spectator Bar.
5. Farmopolis
Ever wondered where all the plants get to after the Chelsea Flower Show? This year, they’re being rescued by an altruistic team who are giving them a new lease on life at the blissful sounding ‘Farmopolis’. The floating garden is located off the Greenwich Peninsula, and is also home to a cultural hub, events space and café serving up seasonal food. Get in on the action this weekend at their opening party and take one home with their ‘adopt-a-plant’ scheme. Awww.
